I do not know if I can write yet another story on America s false perceptions of Mexico and the constant America media spotlighting of the criminal events that do occur here. I ve written so many and then swear that I will not write another single story on this issue. But, you ve got to hear this one.

The wife and I ran into an expatriate friend from Arkansas that had just learned his brothers, a doctor and lawyer, turned his name over to the American Embassy in Mexico City as missing and possibly kidnapped. Through a series of bizarre events, his brothers, both highly educated men, believed the American news media hype in reporting on

the currently out-of-control crime situation in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. They jumped to the irrational conclusion that their brother, our friend, just had to be one of the Americans who had been reported missing or killed simply because he had not written them in a while.

resounding success of Monday’s “National Day of Action,” which drew the backing of hundreds of thousands of protesters across the United States, now are planning a national boycott which they hope will have an even greater resonance.

Organizers are planning the May 1 “Great American Boycott,” urging illegal immigrants — who cannot vote and who have only limited political power — to flex their economic muscle. Protesters are being urged to refrain from shopping, and to stay away from school and work.

Gotcha is a game played by almost everyone. Whether it s the neighborhood teens shooting paintballs around, college kids throwing water balloons at each other, weekend warriors involved in war games or tech lovers playing lazar tag, the game never seems to go out of style. Hardcore Gotcha fans know that the best way to win is to fake out the competition. This is a lesson that the U.S. Government seems to have learned and put to good use.

As a person who still holds the record for the highest score on a Civics Exam in the State of Florida, I think I know a bit about politics and government. I ve tried to share what I

know and have observed over the years with mixed results. Few listened when I wrote my first article about how the government was playing both political sides against the middle in the late 1980s. Some were beside themselves with anger after I wrote an early 1990s article stating that people like Rush Limbaugh (conservative) and Mario Cuomo (liberal) were delivering the same message. That message was to stay preoccupied with side issues while the Republicans and Democrats in Washington lunched together on our dime, laughed about the elimination of our freedoms and consolidated their power over us.
